GP: Lubbock, Texas (where I made and exhibited this work) is mapped upon a Jeffersonian grid, a surveying method that has been a major component of the US government’s theft and compartmentalization of Native American lands.  I used GMO corn to visually reference the grid and the complex relationships between feed-lot animal husbandry and highly water-dependent, monoculture farming with the local ecology. Gallery visitors scattered the installation’s edges over the course of a month, implicating them as witnesseses and active participants in destroying the symbology of a broken, unsustainable system.
